Exploit Sender Guide

For those who have an AR Max Cheat disc that allows a connection to the internet to get saves, and dont have a USB stick to transfer an Exploit  .max save. This app will 'hijack' the AR Max's online request for saves, allowing you to transfer an  exploit.max  from your  PC to your PS2. You must have both the PC and PS2 networked.


What you will need:

First lets start AR Max on the PS2 and configure it to connect to your PC.


Goto  Max Memory and select  Settings



Press down on the D pad and select  Internet Connection Settings to configure them.



If your ISP requires a Username & Password everytime you connect to the internet, select yes and input them.  Otherwise select NO.



Select NO for  Auto Configure (DHCP) and input your network settings.



Your IP address should be the PS2's IP, not the PC.  It must be in the range of your network (default is 192.168.0.10 )
Subnet Mask is usually not necessary to change.  Only advanced users would know if it needs to be changed to match changes they made in their network.
Gateway  should be the same as your PC's IP
DNS server 1 should also be the same as your PC's IP
DNS Server 2 isnt used, so leave as is.


What?  You dont know what your PC's IP is!!  Ok, calm down.....heres how you can find out:
On your PC, goto  [Start] >[Run] > type CMD or COMMAND.COM > hit [OK] > type ipconfig at prompt  > hit [ enter]

 Now all your network info is displayed in the command window.




Input the settings by using the D-pad and  highlight the IP address, press X button and change the numbers by pressing up/down , then right for the next  number.
When you have input all 4, press X again  and all 4 should be highlighted again.
press down and do the  Gateway & DNS in the same manner.

Ok, so now you have input the correct settings, save it by selecting  Confirm changes  and pressing X button.



Again go down to Save changes and select  Save changes & exit, then press X button.



You should now see it saving:



Now that you have configured AR Max to connect to your PC, lets go and  get the save from your PC. Select the  Get Saves button.




* * * * This is where you need to start Exploit Sender FIRST, so dont press the X button yet !!! * * * *





Lets leave this as is  for a moment and start Exploit Sender back at the PC.



First press the  Choose Directory button and navigate to the folder your .max exploit save is in.
 If you used the Exploit Utility, it should be the same location as mine as shown in the picture above. If you havent saved it as a .max, use PS2SaveBuilder and save it as exploit.max to make it easy to find.
The PC's Network IP should already be correct, but if it doesnt match the ipconfig from the Command window in the above step, then change it to that one.
Now press the Start Exploit Sender button and you will see this log window open:



Now go over to your PS2 and select  Online and press X button and you should see this screen if you've done all the steps above correctly.



If you do not see this  or you get an error, you have either not correctly input the settings for your network, have a firewall  blocking the connection, have IIS running in the background or your AR Max version might be incompatible with Exploit Sender.
 Goto the forums for help if you cant solve the issue.


Next press the X button and you will see this screen.



Now press X again. This is the folder containing your exploit.max and  any other saves you have in that folder. So press X on the Exploit.max.



This next screen is more for a confirmation you want this file, so press X to start the download, or if its the wrong file press right or left on the D pad and select 'back' to choose a different one.



AR Max will now copy the file info to the PS2's memory.



Now you are given the choice of Memory Cards to install to :



Press X and it will ask you to over-write the existing power-save ("Your System Configuration") save created by the PS2.
Select Yes, as this is where the save must go.



The copy will start and you see the progress screen:



You will be taken back to the save selection screen when the file has finished copying.




Thats it, you have successfully installed the exploit to your MC, now just remove the AR Max disc and put in the PSX disc you used to create the TITLE.DB file when you made the exploit.max and restart the console.   If you have done the exploit.max correctly, you should see the uLaunchelf screen (if you used uLaunchelf as the boot.elf)

Back on the PC, the log will show any error messages if the transfer failed. Otherwise you should see a similar log as this for a successful transfer:
